Archeological Find on a La Jolla Beach

.

[I lost the picture, sorry.  I will look for a replacement when I will return to the same beach in La Jolla this coming February 2023]

Ribosomal subunit on the beach!

The fact it is so low in resolution is not surprising, given the wear and tear over millennia.  What is surprising is the sheer scale.  Could it be that it’s the first sighting of a fossilized ribosome from a dinosaur?

(There was no trace of a matching small subunit, if this is what you are going to ask.)
