Discovering Columbus

Columbus, it is true, has been out of reach for as long as he stood on Columbus Circle.  The Penthouse erected around him, complete with Americana wallpaper, TV set running CNN, bookshelf with Richard Ford and other chronicles of current and past America, brings Christopher for once closer to our eyes.  And what do we find?  We find him distracted, uninterested in  human affairs, focused instead on another piece of real estate.  I do think the fact that the price of a square foot has reached astronomic proportions cannot have escaped his ever so practical  attention.
