It was the experience of wandering around in his own mind, during all his wake moments, like a man who walks in the thicket of a forest, forgetful yet with bouts of certainty and firm knowledge that a treasure was there that would never go away. And just like that man walking by chance into a clearing where the treasure is sparkling in the sunlight, he re-discovered his secret luck over and over again. For the new prospects of his life were so new, and totally different from what he’d thought himself doing just a few weeks ago, that they required re-thinking, and actually re-wiring his brain. Because in the human mind, everything is connected with everything else, and just like the addition of a single guest to a dinner party increases the number of handshakes by the number of guests already there, the addition of a pocket of facts to our living knowledge is not done lightly and requires the serious work of dreams.
