Umbellules

Yesterday, after a downpour, the dill plant in my garden sparkled with thousands of little droplets.

For some reason, dill plants become enormous in my garden — 8 feet tall.

Its hundreds of umbellules (I just learned it: little flower clusters) attract bees, wasps, hummingbirds, and butterflies.

When the flowers go to seed, they taste like licorice, and I chew a couple of seed umbellules every morning with the idea that if I reach real old age and someone asks me how did you manage I will talk about my dill plant and my daily chew.  By the way I chew basil and sorel leaves as well, so the credit would be a bit mixed.
